Easy Infused Coconut Oil

Easy Infused Coconut Oil

In this article, we will learn how to make easy infused coconut oil using just seven grams of flower and one cup of coconut oil. This recipe is perfect for those who want to create a quality, potent infusion at home. We will also discuss the optional use of a mason pot kit for added convenience.

Breaking Up the Flower

To start, we need to grind or break up our flower. You can grind it, trim it, or use shake concentrate. Once you have prepared the flower, put on the lid of the mason pot kit and insert the thermometer probe. We will then place it in the oven at 240 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes. This step is crucial as it activates the THCA and converts it to THC, resulting in a potent batch of infused coconut oil.

Adding the Coconut Oil

After the first step is complete, remove the probe from the jar and undo the tab on the top of the jar. You will notice that the flour has a slightly brown coloration. Now, it's time to add one cup of coconut oil to the jar. Screw the lid back on and reinsert the thermometer probe. Place the jar back in the oven, this time at a recommended temperature of 190 degrees Fahrenheit for 60 minutes. You can adjust the temperature between 190 and 220 degrees Fahrenheit, but we recommend sticking to the sweet spot of 190 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Stirring and Cooling

After the 60-minute timer is up, give the mixture a nice stir. This step is optional but recommended for a more even infusion. It's also a visually pleasing moment, as the swirling mixture can resemble the cosmos. Put the jar back in the oven for another 60 minutes, bringing the total infusion time to two hours.

Once the timer goes off, it's time to remove the jar from the oven. We recommend letting it cool before proceeding, but if you're in a hurry, you can use a microfiber cloth to handle the jar. Be cautious, as the mixture may still be warm. Remove the lid and prepare the mason puck by cleaning it beforehand.

Using the Mason Puck

The mason puck is a convenient tool for straining the infused coconut oil. Simply drop the puck into the jar and press it down. Through the pothole in the puck, the oil will be strained out, leaving behind any plant material. Place a fine strainer over another glass or container and pour the mixture through it. If you have the OG bundle, you can use one of the additional jars provided.
